A midcentury,
plainly restored.
Four bedrooms, four baths, on a deep east-facing lot just off the Intracoastal block.
A walk through, in plates.

PLATE 13 / 13Built in '58.
Restored, slow.
The house was built in 1958, a low-slung midcentury on a quiet block east of Olive. It changed hands twice, kept its bones, and in 2021 went down to the studs in the gentlest sense — the proportions left alone, the materials chosen one by one.
What you'll find now: wide-plank white oak that runs the length of the floor without a transition strip; a custom standing-seam metal roof with a dry, deliberate edge; impact glass on every opening; ten-foot ceilings in the family room and the primary; bathrooms that lean spa, in stone and brass.
The kitchen is open to the family room and out to the courtyard. There's a wine refrigerator built in, a wide island for two cooks, and a pantry hidden behind a flush door. Cabinetry is rift-cut white oak; the counters are honed to keep the glare out of the morning.
Outside, the lot is a comfortable 7,500 square feet — and runs east toward the Intracoastal block. The newly reimagined pool and spa take the south side; a cascading waterfall, heated saltwater, and lighting tuned for after dinner. Two outdoor showers, hot and cold, on either end of the deck.
The primary suite is upstairs, a deliberate choice. Its private balcony catches the east and south exposures — the morning light over the pool, a breeze off the water. Three additional bedrooms are downstairs, a quiet wing for children or guests, one staircase from the primary.
A short list, kept honest.
Wide-plank white oak
Rift-cut, 8" planks, run continuously through the main level. Hand-finished matte.
Custom metal roof
Standing-seam, low-glare zinc-grey. Detailed by the architect, fabricated locally.
Impact glass throughout
Every opening rated for hurricane impact. Quiet, even on summer nights.
10ft ceilings
Family room and primary suite. Volume without grandeur.
Saltwater pool + spa
Heated, with a cascading waterfall and warm-white lighting tuned for evenings.
Open-plan kitchen
Island built for two cooks. Built-in wine fridge. Honed stone, white oak cabinetry.
Landscape and privacy
Mature palms, jacaranda, ferns and jasmine. Drip-irrigated, lit. Gated entry, hedge perimeter — fully private.
Dual outdoor showers
Hot and cold, on either end of the deck. Brass hardware, slatted wood walls.
Primary balcony
East and south exposures. Sunrise over the pool, breezes from the Intracoastal.

The primary is upstairs and the other bedrooms are down. We won't pretend that's perfect for every family — but for the right one, it's the best room of the house, with the best view in it.
